From soul-soaked serenades to funk-driven jam sessions, Martin’s Flight is an Augusta, Georgia-based acoustic duo and full band that blends decades of sound into one unmistakably heartfelt experience. Whether performing as a stripped-down duo or backed by a rotating crew of talented local musicians, the band delivers a dynamic mix of soul, rock, funk, reggae, and alternative grooves that’s as unpredictable as it is unforgettable.

At the core are Cody Martin (vocals, rhythm guitar, keys) and Lance Jackson (lead guitar), longtime friends and music educators with deep classical training—Cody as a vocalist and Lance as a guitarist. Their shared passion for performance and connection fuels every show, whether it's on a big stage or at a backyard wedding.

Martin’s Flight has graced stages like the historic Miller Theater, opening for A1A, the official Jimmy Buffett tribute band, and has played exclusive private events during The Masters Tournament, entertaining clients like Rolex and playing every Sunday in their local churches. They’ve also brought their sound to countless weddings, gatherings, and community events—always aiming to make music that moves people, literally and emotionally.

Their influences stretch across genres and generations: from Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and James Brown, to The Drifters, Bob Marley, and The Beatles. From Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, and The Grateful Dead, to Chris Stapleton, Sublime, Gnarls Barkley, Phish, Foo Fighters, and Kiss. Add in flavors of Charley Crockett, James Taylor, Brandon Lake, Prince, Allman Brothers, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and even Johnny Cash, and you get a sense of the wide-ranging musical spirit that informs their sound. Their music nods to the past while staying rooted in the now. And when they say “music as therapy,” they mean it—every note is played with intention, heart, and a touch of soul-healing energy.

At the heart of it all is a mission: to use music as a force for healing and human connection. Preston, and frequent collaborators like Skyler Slates (bass/guitar) and Shane Mantey (drums), the Martin’s Flight lineup is always expanding—but the mission remains the same: Family comes first, make good music, make people smile, and leave a little more than you took.
